Srinagar Legislator Urges CM’s Intervention for Srinagar Youth Stranded in Myanmar

Jammu, Mar 9, KNT: Eidgah MLA Mubarak Gul has called for Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s immediate intervention to secure the release of a Srinagar youth allegedly held hostage in Myanmar after being duped by a fake job offer.

Faizan Rasool, a 28-year-old resident of Safakadal, Srinagar, reportedly fell victim to an employment scam and is now being held by captors demanding Rs 4.5 lakh for his release.

Raising the matter in the Assembly on Saturday, Gul emphasized the urgency of the situation. “Since morning, I have been inundated with calls from distressed constituents, urging me to highlight this case. I appeal to the Chief Minister to take up the issue with the Foreign Affairs Minister to ensure the youth’s safe return,” he said.

Faizan’s family has made repeated appeals to the authorities, hoping for swift action to bring him home. [KNT]
