Thieves strike twice within a span of 8 days in HMT Srinagar, Factory owner pinning hopes on police

Bhat said that his factory is located at high security zone where a camp of CRPF is situated.

SRINAGAR: Unknown burglars looted copper coils twice within a span of 8 days in a private factory at HMT Srinagar.

Ghulam Jeelani Bhat, the proprietor ‘DG Power System’ company, located at HMT Srinagar told news agency Kashmir News Trust that thieves looted copper coils worth lakhs from his factory. He said thieves struck twice with in span of 8 days.

“First time thieves stole 5.50 quintals of copper from my factory. I lodged a complaint at police station Parimpora where I was assured that thieves will be identified and booked. Second time, thieves stole 20 copper coils worth lakhs,” Bhat said and appealed police to nab the burglars.

He said he is dealing in voltage stabilizers. ‘The stolen copper coils were for the transformers. I have incurred huge losses and now police is the only hope for me,” Bhat said.

Bhat said that his factory is located at high security zone where a camp of CRPF is situated.

When contacted a police official from Parimpora Police Station said that an FIR stands already registered while a team has been constituted to investigate the matter. He said case will be solved as soon as possible. (KNT)
