IEDs, Radio Sets Recovered from Militant Hideout in Poonch

Poonch, May 5, KNT: In a joint operation, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with the Army’s Romeo Force uncovered a suspected militant hideout in Surankot village of Poonch district on Monday. During the search, security forces recovered five improvised explosive devices (IEDs), several radio communication sets, connecting wires, binoculars, and blankets—indicating the hideout was actively in use.
Poonch Police later shared images of the seized material, which included a close-up of the recovered IEDs and communication gear, underscoring the potential threat the recovered items posed.
This recovery comes just a day after a high-level security review meeting chaired by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, VK Birdi, at the Police Control Room in Srinagar. The meeting was attended by senior officers from the Police, Army, intelligence agencies, and Central Armed Police Forces, focusing on joint strategies to strengthen anti-militancy operations in the region.
