Tourism Bodies Join Hands: TASK Convenes Key Meeting to Safeguard Interests of Tour Operators

 

 

Srinagar, Apr 15, KNT: In a significant development aimed at strengthening unity among tourism stakeholders, the Travel Agents Society of Kashmir (TASK) convened an important meeting with all major travel agent associations of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting, held at the TASK office in Srinagar, was chaired by senior TASK member Mohammed Ibrahim Siah and witnessed participation from a broad spectrum of tourism bodies.

The meeting was marked by the presence of prominent association heads and representatives including Rouf Trumboo, President of the Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK), Noor Mohammed Shangloo from the JK Tourism Alliance, Nissar Mir, Chairman of the Adventure Tour Operators of Kashmir (AKTO), and Bashir Goosani, Secretary General of the Domestic Tour Operators of Kashmir (DTOK). Also present were Mukhtar Jaan, President of the United Tour and Travel Agents (UTAA), Showket Pakhtoon, Chairman of the Pilgrim and Leisure Tour Operators Forum (PILTOF), Zahoor Ahmed Karnai, Chairman of the Travel Trade Interest Group (TTIG), and Sameer Baktoo, Chairman of the J&K Chapter of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI). Other notable attendees included Nasir Shah,

Chairman of the J&K Chapter of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Mir Anwer, Chairman of the J&K Chapter of the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI), and Burhan, Secretary General of the J&K Chapter of the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI).

All office bearers and members of the managing committee of TASK were also present, reflecting a united front of the tourism industry in Kashmir.

According to the General Secretary TASK, Waseem Gosani, during the meeting, a unanimous consensus emerged that all associations would come together to present a consolidated set of demands and suggestions before the concerned government and semi-government authorities. The initiative is aimed at protecting the interests of tour operators and ensuring a collaborative approach to policy advocacy and tourism development.

The participants acknowledged the pressing need for a common platform where collective concerns can be addressed more effectively, especially in the wake of emerging challenges facing the tourism sector. The gathering underscored the importance of unity and cooperation among stakeholders, and TASK was entrusted with the responsibility of acting as a bridge between the travel fraternity and the authorities.

With this initiative, the tourism trade in Kashmir has taken a strong step forward in amplifying its voice and securing a more robust and inclusive engagement with policymakers. [KNT]
