Sunil Dimple Leads Protest in Jammu, Rejects Waqf Bill, “BJP-RSS Threatening J&K’s Demographic and Cultural Identity”

Political leader Sunil Dimple on Thursday led a protest rally in Jammu, strongly opposing the recently passed Waqf Bill and demanding the restoration of Article 370, special status, and full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a gathering of supporters, Dimple rejected the Waqf Bill outright, alleging that it was introduced by the BJP government with an aim to create religious divisions between Hindus and Muslims in the region. He termed the bill “unacceptable” and accused the BJP-RSS alliance of attempting to alter the communal and demographic fabric of the erstwhile Dogra state.
“This Waqf Bill is a calculated move to sow religious discord in J&K. We will not allow the unity and brotherhood of the region to be destroyed,” Dimple said.
He also raised strong objections to the issuance of over 84,000 domicile certificates to non-residents of Jammu and Kashmir, alleging it was part of a larger agenda to change the demographic profile of the region.
“The RSS-BJP combine is a serious threat to the Dogra identity and is acting against the legacy of Maharaja Hari Singh and the integrity of the Dogra state,” Dimple said, demanding immediate revocation of the domicile certificates issued to outsiders.
Dimple reiterated the demand for the restoration of Article 370 and J&K’s special constitutional status, as well as the return of full-fledged statehood. He also called for the revival of the traditional Darbar Move, which was discontinued in recent years.
The protest witnessed participation from several local residents and political workers who echoed concerns over the growing fears of demographic manipulation and loss of regional identity.
