One Dead, Nine Injured as Vehicle Overturns in J&K’s Ramban 

 

Ramban, Apr 14, KNT:  A pre-dawn road accident near Banihal in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district claimed one life and left nine others injured on Monday, officials said.

The mishap occurred around 4:00 AM when a Tata Mobile vehicle, carrying eleven members of two Bakarwal families from Rajouri’s Teryath area, was en route to Srinagar. As the vehicle approached the railway bridge in Banihal, it lost control, overturned, and rammed into the bridge wall.

“One person died on the spot and nine others sustained injuries,” officials confirmed, noting that a baby girl among the passengers miraculously escaped unhurt.

The injured were initially rushed to Sub-District Hospital Banihal and later referred to Government Medical College Anantnag for specialized care.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. [KNT]
