Ceasefire Violation Reported Along LoC in Poonch’s Digwar Sector Exchange of Fire Sparks Tension; Search Operation Launched in Area

Poonch, Apr 7, KNT: Tension gripped the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu division’s Poonch district on Monday following a ceasefire violation by Pakistani forces in the Digwar sector, official sources said.

According to defense officials, Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the LoC, prompting swift retaliation from Indian forces stationed in the area. The exchange of fire reportedly lasted for a brief period and was largely confined to forward positions.

No casualties or injuries were reported from either side at the time of filing this report.

In the aftermath of the firing, security forces launched a combing operation in nearby areas to rule out any infiltration attempt under the cover of ceasefire violation. [KNT].
