Srinagar, Apr 15, KNT: Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla has strongly refuted allegations of partiality in referring patients for MRI scans, clarifying that the diagnostic services are being carried out in accordance with an established Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model that has been in place for over a decade.
An administrative official from the Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla on Monday dismissed recent claims suggesting that the hospital was referring patients to an external private diagnostic centre for MRI tests. The official emphasized that the hospital has maintained a Memorandum of Association for the last 14 years with a private healthcare service provider operating within the hospital premises.
“This is a Public-Private Partnership model that has been functioning efficiently within the hospital premises. MRI tests are being conducted at reasonable rates without any discrimination,” the official clarified, adding that the agreement has contributed significantly to enhancing healthcare delivery.
Recent reports had claimed that the Bone and Joint Hospital was directing patients to a privately-run diagnostic centre, raising concerns over transparency and possible commercial interests. However, the hospital administration termed these reports as misleading and unfounded.
The hospital official explained that the existence of the private healthcare unit within the hospital campus is backed by an official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which has helped bridge gaps in medical infrastructure and ensured uninterrupted diagnostic services.
Reiterating the institution’s commitment to public welfare, the official said: “Bone and Joint Hospital is always at the service of the patients. It has been doing a wonderful job and will continue to strive for excellence in patient care.”
