Srinagar, Apr 22, KNT: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to arrive in Kashmir around 8 pm tonight following a suspected militant attack in the Baisaran area of Pahalgam that left one person dead and eight others injured.
Officials confirmed that Shah will head straight to the attack site upon arrival. His visit comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, reportedly spoke to him over the phone and directed him to take stock of the situation on the ground.
The incident, which took place earlier today, has sparked widespread concern, with several videos from the scene going viral on social media. In one widely shared clip, a non-local woman claims a gunman appeared suddenly and opened fire on a tourist. Other reports suggest that up to three armed men may have been involved in the shooting.
