Altaf Bukhari Urges Centre to Reverse Cut in Private Hajj Quota

Srinagar, Apr 14, KNT: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has voiced serious concern over the recent reduction in India’s private Hajj quota, urging the central government to intervene and have the decision reconsidered by Saudi authorities.
In a post on X, Bukhari said the cut in private Hajj slots could prevent over 40,000 eligible pilgrims from fulfilling their long-awaited spiritual journey, many of whom have already made advance payments.
Calling the move unfortunate, he appealed to Union Minister for External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar and Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju to raise the issue with the Saudi government and work towards restoring the original quota. [KNT]
