Shafi Reshi Affirms Legal Career, Disowns Past Separatist Links

Srinagar, Mar 24, KNT: Advocate Mohammad Shafi Reshi, once a close associate of late separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani, has publicly distanced himself from separatist politics, reaffirming his allegiance to India and the supremacy of the Indian Constitution.

In a formal statement, Reshi announced his complete disassociation from the Jammu & Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM) and the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (G). He clarified that he had severed ties with the DPM in 2017 while serving as its chairman and has had no affiliation with any separatist entity since then.

Issuing a stern warning, Reshi cautioned against the unauthorized use of his name in connection with separatist organizations, stating that any such act would invite legal action. He reiterated his identity as a bona fide Indian citizen, firmly committed to upholding the country’s constitutional principles.

His statement marks a significant departure from his past associations, highlighting a shift in political narratives within Kashmir’s evolving landscape.
