Sajad Lone Questions Assembly’s Rejection of His Resolutions Without Prior Notice
Srinagar, Mar 25, KNT: Peoples Conference president and MLA Handwara, Sajad Gani Lone, on Tuesday expressed dissatisfaction over the Assembly Secretariat’s decision to reject his resolutions without informing him in advance.
As the Assembly session commenced, Lone raised concerns about the disallowance of his resolutions concerning Article 370 and the return of PSA detainees from prisons outside Jammu and Kashmir. He asserted that he should have been notified as per Rule 197 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the J&K Legislative Assembly.
“I was not informed about the rejection of my resolutions,” Lone remarked, questioning the procedural fairness of the decision.
The issue has sparked a debate over transparency in legislative proceedings, with Lone demanding an explanation from the Assembly authorities.
