NIA Raids 12 Locations in Jammu Over Cross-Border Militancy Links

Srinagar, Mar 19, KNT: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday carried out searches at 12 locations in Jammu as part of its probe into cross-border infiltration by militants affiliated with Pakistan-based groups, sources said.

According to officials, the raids targeted sympathisers and overground workers (OGWs) who facilitate the movement of militants by providing logistical support, hideouts, and safe passage.

The federal agency had registered a case on October 24 last year after receiving information about the infiltration of militants from Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed into Indian territory via the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC).

“These infiltrations were enabled by OGWs and other militant associates based in villages across Jammu, who provided logistical support, shelter, money, and food to the infiltrators,” an NIA official said.

The official added that the suspected hybrid militants and OGWs being investigated have ties with newly-formed offshoots and affiliates of banned militant outfits.
