Srinagar, Mar 5, KNT: A Delhi court on Wednesday reserved its decision on the custody parole plea of jailed Jammu and Kashmir MP Engineer Rashid, who has sought permission to attend the upcoming Parliament session. The verdict will be announced on March 7.
Additional Sessions Judge Chander Jit Singh reserved the order after hearing arguments on the plea. Earlier, on March 3, the court had directed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to file its response regarding Rashid’s request.
Advocate Vikhyat Oberoi, who filed the application on Rashid’s behalf on February 27, argued that as a Member of Parliament, he must be allowed to attend the session to fulfill his legislative responsibilities.
Sheikh Abdul Rashid, popularly known as Engineer Rashid, secured a stunning victory over Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Baramulla constituency.
