Cattle Thieves Strike in Budgam’s BK Pora, Locals Demand Swift Action

Budgam, Mar 14, KNT: A wave of panic has gripped residents of BK Pora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district after cattle thieves stole five cows from a local cowshed during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

The latest incident took place in Pohru Teli Mohalla, where thieves broke into the cowshed of Ghulam Muhammad Teli and fled with his livestock. Villagers fear that an organized gang is on the prowl, targeting cattle in the area.

Affected families, particularly those belonging to poor backgrounds, have appealed to the administration and Jammu and Kashmir Police to take immediate action, trace the stolen cattle, and arrest the culprits.

“This is the holy month of Ramzan, a time for patience and righteousness, yet such incidents are causing distress in our community. We trust the police to act swiftly and ensure justice,” locals said.

They also urged authorities to enhance security measures to prevent further thefts. [KNT]
