Budgam Police Nab Two Drug Peddlers, Seize Contraband

Budgam, Mar 28, KNT: Acting against drug peddling, police in Budgam apprehended two individuals and confiscated narcotic substances during a routine checkpoint operation.
A police team from Charar-I-Sharief, stationed near the Sports Stadium, stopped a load carrier for inspection. Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered two paper rolls containing heroin-like substances, weighing around 12 grams.
The arrested individuals were identified as Imran Ahmad Qasba, son of Nazir Ahmad Qasba, a resident of Mehjoor Nagar, Srinagar, and Imran Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah, hailing from Mangan Wachi, Kanipora, Srinagar. The vehicle used in the crime was also taken into custody.
A case has been formally registered at Police Station Charar-I-Sharief under FIR No. 15/2025, and further investigation is underway, according to a police spokesperson.
Police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any drug-related activities by contacting the nearest police station or dialing 112. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to taking strict action against those involved in drug trafficking.
