Two Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances in Kathua, CM Omar Abdullah Orders Probe into Unexplained Deaths

Srinagar, Feb 17, KNT: Two men were found dead under mysterious circumstances in an open field in Batheri village of Billawar in Kathua district. The bodies were discovered with agricultural tools such as a spade, hoe, and mattock lying nearby, raising suspicions about the cause of death.
According to police sources, they received information about two unidentified men lying unconscious in the field. A team was immediately dispatched to the spot, and the duo was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
The deceased were later identified as Shamsher (37), son of Krishan Chand, and Roshan (45), son of Shankar Dass, both residents of Kohag Billawar. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to their deaths.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed sorrow over the incident and directed officials to conduct a thorough inquiry. “The deaths are tragic, and I have asked the concerned officers to ensure a proper investigation,” he stated. [KNT]
