Three Soldiers Injured in Cross-Border Sniper Fire Along LoC in a Week

 

Jammu, Feb 17, KNT: At least three Indian soldiers have sustained injuries in sniper fire from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir over the past seven days, triggering heightened tensions along the border.

On February 10, a soldier, identified as Puran Singh, was injured in a sniper attack in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district. Four days later, on February 14, another soldier suffered injuries after being hit by a sniper shot in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu.

The latest incident occurred on February 16 in the Poonch sector, where a soldier was injured in sniper fire, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire between Indian and Pakistani troops along the LoC.

Tensions along the LoC have seen sporadic escalations despite a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan. [KNT]
