Police Nab Accused in Srinagar Shop Burglary, Recover Stolen Property

Srinagar, Feb 21, KNT Srinagar Police have successfully solved a theft case by arresting the accused and recovering the stolen property within hours of the crime.

According to officials, Police Station Lal Bazar received a written complaint from Maqsood Ahmed Baba, a resident of Arzan Sahib Sopore, currently residing in Jogiwan Lal Bazar. He reported that an unidentified thief had broken into his bread shop in Jogiwan Lal Bazar and stolen ₹34,000 in cash along with some copper utensils.

Acting swiftly, police registered an FIR under relevant sections of law and launched an investigation. After meticulous efforts and analysis of evidence, the police team apprehended the accused, identified as Asif Majeed Parry, son of Abdul Majeed Parry, a resident of Waltengoo Kund, Kulgam.

During the investigation, it was also revealed that the accused had stolen the DVR of CCTV cameras in an attempt to erase evidence. However, the police managed to track him down and recover the stolen items.

Further investigation is underway, and authorities have urged shopkeepers to remain vigilant and ensure security measures to prevent such incidents. [KNT]
