Srinagar, Feb 15, KNT: The Congress has removed Bharatsinh Solanki as its Jammu and Kashmir in-charge, four months after a fact-finding committee was formed to probe the party’s worst-ever defeat in the J&K Assembly elections.
Party workers in Jammu and Kashmir had blamed Solanki for ticket misallocation and an uninspiring campaign. Responding to growing discontent, the Congress high command has appointed Syed Naseer Hussain as the new general secretary in-charge of J&K and Ladakh.
Hussain, a Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka and Congress Working Committee member, was reassigned from the Congress president’s office. [KNT]
