Two Minor Siblings Perish in Fire Incident in North Kashmir

Baramulla, Jan 2, KNT: Two young siblings lost their lives when a massive fire engulfed a residential tin shed in the Ferozpora Tangmarg area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, on Thursday.

The fire broke out in a tin shed belonging to Muhammad Ashraf Dar, son of Ghulam Nabi Dar, in the afternoon. The flames rapidly consumed the structure, leaving little time for rescue. Despite desperate efforts by locals and emergency responders, the children could not be saved, succumbing to the inferno on the spot.

Tehsildar Tangmarg, Eyaad Qadri, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives. He assured the bereaved family that all possible assistance and support would be extended to help them cope with the devastating incident.

A police official told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the cause of the fire remains unknown, and they are investigating the incident. [KNT]
