Two Arrested with Suspected Heroin in Srinagar’s Pantha Chowk

 

Srinagar, Jan 15, KNT: Police in the Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar arrested two individuals and seized a heroin-like substance during a routine checkpoint operation at Zaffron Colony, officials reported.

According to police, a team from Pantha Chowk Police Station intercepted two individuals traveling from Balhama toward Zaffron Colony late Sunday night. During a search, authorities recovered 10 grams of a substance resembling heroin from their possession.

The suspects have been identified as Furqan Majeed Khan, alias Kanda, son of Abdul Majeed, a resident of Kanipora Nowgam, and Sameer Hussain Dar, son of late Gh Mohammad Dar, a resident of Chatregam Nowgam.

A case has been registered under FIR number 02/2025, invoking sections 8/21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police have initiated further investigations into the matter.
