President Murmu Highlights J&K Progress, Train Connectivity as Major Achievement

 President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the transformation in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370, calling the train connectivity to Kashmir a major milestone for the government.

Speaking at the joint session of Parliament marking the Budget Session’s commencement, she stated, “Significant changes have taken place in Jammu and Kashmir after the revocation of Article 370.”

Highlighting infrastructure developments, she noted that the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail project is now complete, linking Kashmir with Kanyakumari by rail. She also mentioned the construction of the world’s highest rail bridge over the Chenab River as part of this initiative.

On national security, the President reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding borders and strengthening internal security. She also pointed to advancements in the defense sector, stating that India has moved from ‘Make in India’ to ‘Make for the World’ in defense manufacturing.
