Female Charas Supplier’s House Raided After Recovery of Charas from Man

 

Baramulla, Jan 4, KNT: Police in North Kashmir’s Baramulla arrested two alleged drug peddlers, including a woman, and seized contraband substances on Saturday.

The arrests followed an operation at a checkpoint at Bela Crossing Boniyar in Uri, where police intercepted Rafiq Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Hundi Nowshera. A search revealed 50 grams of a charas-like substance in his possession. Sheikh was taken into custody, and a case was registered under relevant sections of the law at Police Station Boniyar.

The police said that during interrogation, Sheikh disclosed that he had procured the contraband from Shameema Begum, a resident of Lari Kasi Boniyar.

Acting on this lead, a police team, accompanied by a magistrate, raided lady’s residence. The search resulted in the recovery of 62 grams of a charas-like substance and 1 kg of charas powder.

Shameema Begum was arrested on the spot.. Over the past few months, several cases have come to light involving female drug peddlers. [KNT]
