Aishmuqam murder: Soz condemns ruthless act; Calls it a ‘heinous crime
Srinagar, Jan, 11, KNT: Former Union Minister and Congress leader Prof. Saifuddin Soz on Saturday expressed deep anguish and shock over the murder of a pregnant woman by her husband in Aishmuqam, Anantnag, and termed it “a heinous crime” that has “shaken every human being.”
In a statement issued here, Soz said, “It is hard to comprehend how someone could be as cruel and heartless as to murder his pregnant wife and then burn her body in an attempt to hide the crime. Over three months later, the police have yesterday recovered the remains of the 35-year-old victim from a cowshed at her in-laws’ residence in Aishmuqam, Anantnag.”
“This heinous act has deeply shocked and disturbed everyone. My deepest sympathies go out to the victim’s family. The perpetrator must be brought to justice as early as possible and face the severest punishment,” he added. [KNT]
