Year 2024: Police seize properties worth Rs 4.13 crore of drug peddlers
Srinagar, Dec 17, KNT: This year the Police in Kashmir capital Srinagar seized the properties of drug peddlers worth Rs 4.13 crore.
Police seized 10 properties of notorious drug peddlers in different parts of Srinagar. These properties include residential houses and vehicles.
This information as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust was provided by officials to the District Magistrate Srinagar during a meeting on drug menace.
Besides attaching the properties, Srinagar police this year registered 88 cases and arrested 150 persons involved in drug-related activities.
The seized substances during the current year include 1.17 kg of brown sugar, 2.90 kg of heroin, 13 kg of charas, 10.16 kg of ganja, and 44.18 kg of poppy straw, cannabis, and bhung. In addition, psychotropic substances such as 273 bottles of syrup and 2,430 capsules were confiscated.
Police also seized cash amounting to Rs 4,89,696, believed to be linked to drug trade activities. [KNT]
