Budgam, Dec 30, KNT: After the recent snowfall, the District Administration Budgam has barred vehicles without anti-skid chains from entering the tourist resort Doodhpathri in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
While talking to the news agency Kashmir News Trust the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Khansahib, Malik Tariq said that the order has been implemented as a precautionary measure.
He said the administration had issued an advisory several days earlier, mandating that all vehicles must be equipped with anti-skid chains due to massive snowfall in the upper reaches of Doodhpathri. “This snowfall has resulted in slippery road conditions, which pose potential hazards,” he added.
The SDM urged tourists to adhere to the guidelines and check weather updates before planning their visits to the upper reaches, to ensure safety and prevent any mishaps. [KNT]
