Vehicle purchased through narcotics trade seized in Srinagar, Duo arrested

 

Srinagar, Dec 10, KNT: Srinagar police seized a vehicle believed to have been acquired through proceeds from the narcotics trade.

The vehicle (JK01J-7081), was confiscated from two alleged drug peddlers, Asif Ahmad Sheikh and Arif Ahmad Sheikh, residents of the Babapora Barthana area of Srinagar outskirts.

The police said that both individuals had been arrested in a drug-related case registered at Parimpora Police Station, and booked under Sections 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

A police statement confirmed that the investigation revealed the vehicle was purchased using illicit funds generated from the drug trade. The seizure was carried out under Section 68 of the NDPS Act. [KNT]
