Police Rescue Chronically Ill Diabetic Patient Amid Snowfall in South Kashmir

Kulgam, Dec 28, KNT: Police in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district rescued a chronically ill diabetic woman from snowbound Chirhama village and ensured her safe transport to the hospital despite challenging weather conditions.

The rescue operation led by the SHO Mirbazar,  began as soon as the police received a distress call about the patient’s critical condition and the urgent need for medical attention.

With heavy snowfall blocking roads and hampering transportation, the SHO Mirbazar immediately coordinated efforts to clear the route.

“A JCB machine was arranged on priority to remove the accumulated snow, making the road navigable. Once the path was cleared, the patient was swiftly transported to the nearest hospital, where she could receive the necessary medical care,” an official told the news agency Kashmir News Trust.

The family members of the patient expressed gratitude to the police for their swift and prompt action. [KNT]
