Two year old girl dies of suffocation in South Kashmir
Kulgam, Dec 28, KNT: A two-year-old girl lost her life, and three other family members were hospitalized due to suffocation caused by a charcoal firepot used for heating in the Ves Batapora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials reported.
The family, originally from Ramban and temporarily residing as tenants in Ves Batapora, reportedly inhaled toxic fumes overnight from the firepot.
The incident came to light when the family was found unresponsive and rushed to the Primary Health Center Muhammadpora by police, health officials, and local authorities.
Tragically, the young girl, identified as Aadita Jan, daughter of Nissar Ahmad, was declared dead on arrival at the health center. The three other family members, who were also affected, are reported to be in stable condition. [KNT]
