Resolution on special status: ‘Time for Jammuties to wake-up’

Jammu, Nov 6, KNT: Aam Aadmi Party has welcomed the resolution on special status passed by the Legislative Assembly with a majority vote. The resolution, brought by the National Conference, seeks to restore the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Vice President for Jammu and Kashmir, Amit Kapoor told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that it’s high time for the people of Jammu to wake up and safeguard their interests. He highlighted the negative impact of the abrogation of Article 370, citing the loss of jobs for locals. Kapoor expressed concerns that outsiders are now getting jobs in Jammu and Kashmir and hoped that the current government would prioritize protecting the job and land rights of the people.

“With the passage of this resolution, we are taking a crucial step towards reclaiming our rights and safeguarding our future. It’s a victory for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Amit Kapoor who hails from Jammu said.

Kapoor said that since 2019 people of Jammu and Kashmir have been suffering, burdened by various taxes. He said there was no accountability and now the people have started feeling a change on the ground. “We welcome this resolution and appreciate all those who support it,” he said adding that natives are jubliant.
