At least 56 locations raided in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir, police conducted 56 raids across the Jammu division, arresting several overground workers (OGWs) and suspects, while seizing incriminating materials. Acting on intelligence inputs, the raids were carried out in Rajouri-Poonch, Udhampur, and Reasi districts.

The operation targeted militant networks linked to proscribed outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Police aimed to identify, track, and apprehend OGWs and suspects involved in aiding militant outfits, managing logistics, recruitment, and facilitating arms, ammunition, and funds.

The searches spanned several locations, including residential houses and hideouts, in the twin frontier districts of Rajouri-Poonch. Investigations stem from two separate cases registered at Thanamandi PS in 2013 and Rajouri PS this year. Additional raids in Udhampur and Reasi districts were conducted as part of a case registered at Basantgarh Police Station.

Incriminating materials seized during the operation include electronic devices, documents, unaccounted cash, weapons, and ammunition. The police spokesperson said that the operation was conducted meticulously to avoid collateral damage and inconvenience to civilians.
