Government to Introduce Resolution on Article 370 in Upcoming Assembly Session, Will Restore ‘Darbar Move Practice’: Tanvir Sadiq
Srinagar, Oct 24, KNT: National Conference legislature and spokesperson, Tanvir Sadiq today said that the government will bring a resolution on Article 370 in the upcoming Assembly Session.
Tanvir Sadiq termed the Centre’s 2019 abrogation of Article 370 as “unconstitutional” and emphasized the NC government’s determination to challenge this move. He expressed hope that opposition parties, including the BJP, will support the resolution.
“The Omar Abdullah-led government also plans to revive the Darbar Move practice, benefiting Jammu traders and Dogras,” Tanvir Sadiq told the news agency Kashmir News Trust adding that whatever the NC has promised to the people of Jammu and Kashmir will be delivered.
“The Omar Abdullah-led government aims to revive the Darbar Move practice, benefiting people of Jammu. This will be achieved, albeit gradually. The NC government is committed to fulfilling its 12 guarantees and 26 promises outlined in the election manifesto,” he said adding that BJP has no justification in opposing the move about the restoration of Darbar Move practice.
Tanvir Sadiq criticized the BJP for dividing Jammu and Kashmir and fueling communal tensions for electoral gains. “In contrast, the NC prioritizes unity and inclusive representation,” he said.
He said Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is currently in Delhi, engaging with ministers to address the peoples’ pressing issues. He said Omar Abdullah means business this time and people will witness a sea of change. [KNT]
