Omar Abdullah Makes Emotional Appeal to Ganderbal Voters, Video Goes Viral
Ganderbal, Sep 4, KNT: In a heartfelt gesture, National Conference (NC) leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah made an emotional appeal to the voters of Ganderbal Constituency, seeking their support in the upcoming Assembly elections. With folded hands, Abdullah pleaded with the voters to make him successful this time around.
In a dramatic moment, Omar Abdullah even removed his skull cap, a symbol of faith and dignity, to emphasize his sincerity. However, his supporters, who were sloganeering in the background, requested him to wear it back, showcasing their affection and respect for him.
The video of this emotional appeal has gone viral on social media, eliciting mixed reactions from the netizens. While some have praised Abdullah’s humility and willingness to connect with the voters, others have criticized his gesture as a political stunt.
Notably, Omar Abdullah is contesting from Ganderbal Constituency, which he had lost in 2002 to the then PDP candidate, late Qazi Afzal. He also faced defeat in 2014 from Sonwar Assembly segment against the then PDP candidate, Muhammad Ashraf Mir, but managed to win by a narrow margin from Beerwah against the then PDP candidate, Nazir Khan.
