Stunt biking sees significant decline – thanks to traffic police, social media
Srinagar, Aug 2, KNT: In a welcome development, stunt biking has significantly decreased on the streets of Srinagar, thanks to the timely and effective efforts of the Traffic Police. The police crackdown has forced stunt bikers to desist from their illegal activities, bringing relief to commuters and residents.
Social media has also played a crucial role in exposing traffic violators, with users sharing videos and photos of stunt bikers, helping the police identify and take action against them.
“The Traffic Police have done a commendable job in curbing stunt biking,” said a local resident. “We feel safer on the roads now.”
Statistics show a notable decrease in stunt biking incidents, with a significant reduction in accidents and traffic congestion.
An official on the condition of anonymity told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that due to strict action from the traffic police there has been a 70% decrease in stunt biking incidents which implies that there has been 50% reduction in road accidents and 30% decrease in traffic congestion.
“Our efforts have paid off, but we won’t let our guard down,” the official said and acknowledged that Social media has been a game-changer in exposing traffic violators.”
He said that the Traffic Police have vowed to continue their efforts, ensuring that the roads remain safe and stunt biking remains a thing of the past. [KNT]
