Army ought to create friendly relations with general public: Jammu Muslim Front
Jammu Muslim Front Monday expressed concern over the prevailing situation in Poonch saying that it is high time for the army to win the hearts of the people who are vulnerable to violence.
Jammu Muslim Front Chairman, Shujah Zaffar in a statement to the news agency Kashmir News Trust said that the killing of army personnel and civilians in the Poonch is very unfortunate.
“We appeal to the army top brace to create a public-friendly environment and initiate action against those who target innocent civilians. People living in far-flung areas of Poonch and Rajouri are peace-loving and trust the integrity and discipline of the Army. The unfortunate killing of civilians is bound to create a trust deficit. We appeal to people at the helm of affairs to initiate action against those who try to malign the image of the army,” he said.
Shujah Zaffar said that innocent people are helpless before the gun. “We demand stern action against those who are responsible for the attack on the army and also against those who target innocent civilians in the name of combatting militancy,” the Front President said and hoped that the army would reach out to the families of those civilians who were killed aftermath of the militant attack.
