Medical Superintendent District Hospital Shopian has issued a notice to a fair price shop owner directing him to deposit an outstanding amount to the tune of over 2 Crore rupees.
The notice has been issued against Muhammad Ashraf Shah son of Ghulam Muhammad Shah, a resident of Hergam Shopian who is the proprietor of Fair Price Medical Shop, ‘Amir Medical Store.
“Whereas, you were allotted Fair Price Medical Shop on 12-09-2012 for being a the highest bider for Rs. 51.01 Lacs for a period of five years.”
“Whereas, this office had issued Notice for recovery of balance amount to the tune of Rs. 21,96,000 (Twenty-one Lac and ninety-six thousand) vide SPN/831-36, dated 7-8-2017 you preferred writ petition before the Hon’ble High Court of J&K against the said notice.”
The notice as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust further reads that the Court passed stay order with respect to the impugned notice.
“Whereas, the outstanding payment against Fair Price Shop till 31-12-2022 calculated by this office is Rs. 2,29,36479 (Two Crore Twenty Nine Lacs and Thirty-Six thousand Four Hundred and Seventy Nine) and also stands submitted to the office of Deputy Commissioner, Shopian vide this office No. MS/DH-SPN/Accts/2022-23/149-50, Dated: 18/01/2023 by the then Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Shopian.”
“Whereas, an amount to the tune of Rs. 2,20,36479 is outstanding against you, out of which an mount to the tune of Rs. 21,96,000 has been stayed by court.”
“Therefore, you are directed to deposit the outstanding amount of Rs. 2,29,36,479 (excluding the amount stayed by the Hon’ble High Court of J&K till the outcome of writ petition.” [KNT]
