Govt should conduct audit of buildings to lessen the damages during earthquake: Apni Party

Corporator and Apni Party leader Tanveer Hussain Pathan has requested authorities to conduct an audit of buildings in Jammu and Kashmir so that damage can be minimized in case an earthquake hits the erstwhile state in the future.
He said government buildings especially hospitals need a structural audit without any delay.
Tanveer Hussain Pathan said there should be a comprehensive check of buildings and premises including verification of load conditions, evaluation of the structural system, detection of defects in the buildings, and deformation of deterioration of the buildings.
“Jammu Kashmir falls in Seismic Zone 1V and V so it is requested to the concerned authorities that an audit of important buildings especially in hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir be kindly ensured to lessen the destructive impact of an earthquake in the future,” he said. [KNT]
