Since 2018 & Counting: Once electricity is off, BSNL tower is also off in Beerwa Budgam

Budgam: BSNL tower in Beerwah town of Central Kashmir’s district Budgam goes off, once electricity is off. The tower is without any battery backup since 2018.

BSNL subscribers castigated higherups for failing to resolve their problem.

The subscribers of State-owned – Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited accused BSNL of remaining mute. They told news agency Kashmir News Trust that once the electricity goes off as those handling generators to tower never start it to make it functional.

“The problem persists since 2018. We pay for the services that BSNL never offers. Nobody listens to us. The employees of BSNL are so arrogant that they give a damn to our repeated pleas,” lawyer and social activist from Beerwah Advocate Inayat Malik said.

“Whenever there is a power cut in the area , the signal of the cellular company also gets disturbed with the result they are facing a lot of inconveniences,” Malik added.

Another local said that it is useless the avail the services of BSNL. “People are now relinquishing the BSNL SIMs and in fact, they have done it already. Who will prefer the erratic services from BSNL when other private companies are offering better services round the clock,” Aijaz Ahmed said.

The subscriber urged GM BSNL to look into the matter and redress their problems. (KNT)
