Over 100 killed in Russia Ukraine War

Ukraine: Over 100 persons including 90 soldiers have been killed so for after Russia declared a military operation in Ukrain. Reports said that more than 40 Ukrainian soldiers and around 10 civilians died in the first hours of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, an aide to President Volodymyr Zelensky told reporters on Thursday. “I know that more than 40 have been killed and several dozen wounded. I am aware of nearly 10 civilian losses,” presidential administration aide Oleksiy Arestovych told reporters.

A Russian military convoy in annexed Crimea with the letter “Z” painted on the sides of vehicles was seen driving north towards mainland Ukraine on Thursday, a witness told Reuters. The second convoy of military vehicles with the same markings was parked at Krasniperekopsk about 40 km (25 miles) from the boundary between Crimea and mainland Ukraine. Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s military command said that government forces had killed “around 50 Russian occupiers” while repulsing an attack on a town on the frontline with Moscow-backed rebels. AFP could not immediately confirm the death toll. “Shchastya is under control. 50 Russian occupiers were killed.

‘Ukraine Business News’ claimed that the sixth Russian plane was shot down in the Donbas by the Ukraine Forces, 50 Russian occupiers have been killed. Another Russian plane has been destroyed in the Kramatorsk region.

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday broke off Kyiv’s diplomatic relations with Moscow in response to Russia’s invasion of its Western-backed neighbour, reports news agency AFP. “We broke off diplomatic relations with Russia,” Zelensky said in a video message. It marked the first rupture in ties since Russia and Ukraine became independent countries after the Soviet Union’s collapse in 1991.
