Accusing the BJP of dividing the country in the name of religion, Janata Dal-United President for Jammu and Kashmir, GM Shaheen Friday said that the secular credentials of the country are at stake due to the BJP rule. He said BJP goes to any extent to grab power without caring for the secular, democratic, and social credentials of the country.
He said those who hate and abuse Mahatma Gandhi are being encouraged and hate is being spread to divide the communities.
Castigating BJP for pushing the people of Jammu and Kashmir to the wall, Shaheen said that development exists on paper only while millions are being spent to highlight the ‘fake’ developmental narrative of the government.
“There is inflation, unemployment and there is no development but a narrative is being presented in such a way that a layman feels Jammu and Kashmir have been progressing by leaps and bounds,” he said.
Shaheen was talking to the media on the sidelines of the membership drive of the party.
He said BJP is poison for the country and if not checked it could annihilate all the social, political and secular fabric of India. (KNT)
