
Jammu: Two militants and an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the CISF were killed and five have been injured in a pre-dawn encounter with militants that broke out in Sunjuwan area of Jammu.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) while confirming the death of an officer identified him as Assistant Sub-Inspector SP Patel.
CISF in a tweet informed that it averted the militant attack by retaliating effectively to the attack and forced the militants to run away, averting a major loss. In the line of action, one ASI of CISF lost his life and two others are injured.
A senior CISF officer informed media that a bus carrying 15 CISF personnel going for morning shift duties was attacked by the militants at about 4.25 am hours near Chaddha Camp in Jammu.He added that militants resorted to firing and an attack through grenades.

Mukesh Singh, ADGP Jammu Zone, said that there were specific inputs that militants were planning to “do something” and based on it, a cordon was launched and “there was firing”.
“Till now 2 (militants) have been killed. 2 AK-47 rifles, arms and ammunition, satellite phones (besides) some documents were recovered,” the ADGP said, adding, “It seems like they were ‘Fidayeen’ attackers. Operation is underway.”
Some of the injured have been identified as Head Constable Balraj Singh of Kathua, SPO Sahil Sharma of Akhnoor, CISF’s Parmod Patra of Odisha and Amir Soran of Assam.
It is worth mentioning here that in February 2018, militants had attacked security establishment in Sanjuwan area leading to the killing of two soldiers. (KNT)
