Udhampur: A mysterious blast in Udhampur district left one dead and 13 injured on Wednesday.
The blast occurred in Slathia Chowk of the district, officials said.
They said 14 persons sustained injuries in the blast who were shifted to hospital. Among them one person has succumbed to his injuries.
Police rushed to the spot to assess the situation. When contacted a police official told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the nature of blast is being ascertained.
Meanwhile, Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office in a tweet said that: “Blast explosion around “Rehri” near Tehsildar office at #Udhampur. One life lost, 13 injured being moved to hospital. I am in touch with D.C Smt Indu Chib on minute to minute basis. Exact cause and origin of the blast being worked out.”
He said it will be too early to draw any definite conclusion. (KNT)
