Gulmarg: Grand Mumtaz Resorts has created a snow sculpture at the world-famous ski-resort of Kashmir’s Gulmarg.
This replica of the Taj Mahal – one of the seven wonders of this world has been attracting the attention of tourists and locals who visit in large numbers to enjoy the hospitality of the hotel.
General Manager, Satyajeet Gopal, while talking to the news agency Kashmir News Trust said that this snow sculpture was made in about 100 hours (17 days) by hotel team members in sub-zero environment (as low as minus 12 degrees Celsius at times) within the hotel premises with structure measuring 24 feet x 24 feet x 16 feet high in size with zero material expenses and without any professional assistance.
“We conceived this idea after witnessing a huge influx of tourists in Gulmarg and Snow-Taj in Kashmir Gulmarg will give unique experience to all the tourists and locals,” Satyajeet said.
“We have been offering traditional Kashmiri Kehwa with tidbits to all the visitors with our compliments and it has already become a hot-spot for all the shutterbugs taking breathtaking pictures and selfies. There are no entry fees or charges for visiting the place and it remains open round the clock,” he added.
“I have enjoyed a lot of ice carvings or snow sculptures in Switzerland, Finland, and Canada but here Taj Mahal in Kashmir was beyond imagination, a totally different experience. Kashmir is beautiful and everything here is natural,” a tourist from Calgary Canada said.
The first-ever snow-Taj Mahal has become a centre of attraction for local people as well tourists thronging the resort. (KNT)
