Omar Abdullah visits Chennai hospital to see Srinagar acid attack victim

Chennai: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday visited Chennai hospital to inquire the health of the Srinagar acid victim.

Pertinently, a girl from old Srinagar city suffered burn injuries after acid was thrown on her near the Hawal area of Srinagar. Police have already filed a charge sheet against the three accused arrested in the case.

Omar Abdullah in a couple of tweets informed that he was in Chennai for an official function and went also to  ‘Sankara Nethralaya’ Hospital along with the Tamil Nadu Health Minister to see the Srinagar acid attack victim.

“Was in Chennai for an official function. Took the opportunity to visit the girl from Srinagar who was attacked by acid recently. Met her family along with the TN Health Minister who accompanied me to the Hospital.”

He said: “It was good to see the girl & to see she is bravely responding to treatment. The TN health minister M. Subramanian met her family as well & assured them of all possible help. I’m grateful to the surgeons, doctors & staff at Sankara Nethralaya Hospital for the care they are taking,” Omar Abdullah tweeted. (KNT)
