Kulgam locals seek police intervention after bear kills 8 sheep

Kulgam: Wild bear barged into cattle shed from top of the roof and killed at least 8 sheep, injuring 10 others.

The incident occurred in the Banimohalla area of Devsar Kulgam in South Kashmir.

Locals accused Wild Life Department of negligence saying that it is nowhere on the ground.

“It’s not a solitary incident but the sleuth of bears have created havoc at least in four villages including Marwan, Shogund, Chanderge and Beharmund and now Banimohalla became the victim of these wild beasts,” they said adding that hundreds of sheep have become victims of these bears.

The locals appealed to authorities to give them respite from these unbridled bears.

“We appeal to Devsar police to intervene in the matter without any delay,” they said. (KNT)
