Maruti Suzuki: Customer approaches court after JamKash sells defective brand-new car

A customer has approached the court of law against a car dealer in Srinagar after purchasing a defective brand-new car.

The car dealer in question is JamKash Vehicleads Private Limited located at Bypass Hyderpora Srinagar and the aggrieved petitioner, as well as the customer, is from Srinagar uptown.

The petitioner has also made ‘Maruti Suzuki’ a party.

The petitioner through his Counsel has petitioned that he purchased a brand car [Wagon R VXI, superior white color] in June this year from JamKash Vehicleads, and within a month the vehicle exhibited significant mechanical problems, greatly impacting its performance and safety standards.

The petitioner has said that when he brought the issue to the notice of the MD JamKash Vehicleads, he entrusted the task to his mechanic, however, the defect remained intact. The petitioner has said that he objected when the shocker of his new brand car was replaced by another shocker to overcome the noise created by the vehicle.

“It’s simply a fraud case. I was cheated even after paying a handsome amount.”

The petitioner told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that he had written an email to the MD, JamKash informing him that the product delivered does not meet acceptable quality standards upon purchase and poses a potential risk to his safety on the road. “JamKashm was trying to buy the time, every day asking me to wait for the settlement and when I felt the company was not serious, I was left with no option but to knock at the doors of Consumer Court,” the customer said.

He hoped that he would get justice and his action would at least create awareness among those wishing to buy new vehicles.

“It was better for me to buy a second-hand vehicle than the fresh one from JamKash that cares a fig for the customers,” he said. [KNT]
