North Kashmir: Four persons including two troopers sustain injuries in grenade blast

Pattan: Four persons including two troopers sustained injuries after suspected militant lobbed a grenade in Palhalan Chowk of Pattan town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Official sources said that the grenade was tossed towards a CRPF party that exploded, leaving two civilians and two troopers injured.

The injured were shifted to Trauma hospital Pattan where they are stated to be stable.

The injured have been identified as Latif Ahmed Mir of Takya Tappar village, Junaid Hassan Lone of Palhalan, Assistant Sub-Inspector Nitesh Kumar of Himachal Pradesh and Head Constable Ashil Das of Utrakhand, both affiliated with 34-G Company.

One civilian has been referred to SKIMs Srinagar for advanced treatment.

The area was cordoned off after the grenade blast, however, no arrests were made. (KNT)
