Jewellery worth lakhs stolen from the house in North Kashmir’s Uri

 

Uri: A family from North Kashmir’s Baramulla district today claimed that burglars stole jewelly worth lakhs of rupees from their house when they had gone out to attend a marriage function.

The incident has occurred at Trikanjan village of Uri while the house where burglars stole the jewelry worth 4 lakh rupees is owned by one Irshad Ahmed Khan.

The family told news agency Kashmir News Trust that after they incident, they lodged a complaint at police station Boniyar while a police team visited their house for investigation.

They said the incident occurred during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Besides cash worth Rs 7,000 family said that the stolen jewelery includes gold bangles, necklaces and rings.

A police official while confirming the incident said efforts are on to nab the burglars. “We are hopeful that case will be solved,” he said. (KNT)
