Cloud Burst: Mother, two sons and daughter retrieved dead

Baramulla: A mother and her three little children died after a cloud burst hit Kafarnar Bahek in Rafiabad area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An elderly man is still missing while a middle aged man has been found alive by rescue team.

Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a cloud burst hit Kafarnar Bahek. Six members of Haji Bashir Khari’s family had gone missing after the cloud burst.

Police and civil administration had launched rescue operation, however, during the day long operation, four bodies were recovered while search to trace a missing man is still underway.

An official said that one Farooq Ahmed Khari was found alive, however, his father Haji Bashir is still untraceable but the wife, two sons and daughter of Farooq Ahmed Khari have been retrieved dead from the water.

He identified the deceased as Tariq Ahmad Khari (8), son Farooq Khari, Shahnaza Begum (30),  wife of Farooq Khari,  Nazia Akhtar (8), daughter of Farooq Khari and  Arif Hussain (5), son of Farooq Khari.

The search operation was going on till the filing of this report. (KNT)
